During an assembly, Lower School students learned more about the reasoning behind their theme for the school year: “What’s in your toolbox?” Using a theme from a couple of years ago, “What’s Your Why,” as a jumping off point, Dr. Urciuoli, Ms. Collins, Ms. Alexander, Ms. Lobban-Bean, and Ms. Pohani shared why this theme was important, how these tools are always inside of us, and that this theme can be used throughout the building. Ms. Collins then shared the twelve tools that students will learn more about as the year progresses: the Breathing Tool, Quiet/Safe Place Tool, Listening Tool, Empathy Tool, Personal Space Tool, Using Our Words Tool, Garbage Can Tool, Taking Time Tool, Please/Thank You Tool, Apology/Forgiveness Tool, Patience Tool, and the Courage Tool.
