The Year of the Dragon
FEBRUARY 23, 2024
To kick off the Year of the Dragon, which symbolizes power, strength, and good fortune, Mandarin students immersed themselves in the vibrant traditions of Chinese culture as they learned the ancient art of calligraphy and made dumplings. In the Lower School, students welcomed Master Yang Xiao Di for a traditional Chinese juggling performance. In the Middle and Upper School, students enjoyed a series of Budaixi (Chinese puppet shows) by Chinese Theatre Works. Mandarin students and Asian culture club members also decorated walls throughout the Schoolhouse with good luck expressions and new year paintings.
Continuing the celebrations, students in Class IV–XII had the opportunity to practice their calligraphy skills, and Classes V–XII hand made dumplings.
